DriverAI Road Markers (“DriverAI”, “the app”) warns you about road markers you save yourself. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

In short: the app has no account and no server of its own. Your markers and settings stay on your device, and the developer never receives them. The one exception is Google, whose maps, navigation and place-search services the app is built on — see Third-party services.

Information the app uses

Location. The app uses your device’s location to draw the map, to work out how far away your saved markers are and whether you are heading toward them, and to provide driving directions when you ask for them.
Background location. With your permission, the app continues to read your location while it is in the background. This is what allows a warning to reach you when the screen is locked or another navigation app is in front — the situation the app exists for. You can withdraw this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Your markers. The position, colour, optional name, direction of travel and creation date of each marker you save.
Your settings. Spoken language, warning time, minimum warning distance, direction tolerance, preferred speed unit, and the last few places you searched for.

Where that information is kept

On your device. Markers are stored in a file inside the app’s own storage; settings and recent searches are stored in the app’s preferences. None of it is transmitted to the developer, and there is no account, no sign-in and no sync.

You can delete any marker in the app, clear your recent searches from the search screen, and remove everything at once by deleting the app.

Information you choose to share

The app can export your markers to a file. That file goes wherever you send it — Files, AirDrop, mail, another app — and that choice is yours alone. Nothing is exported unless you ask for it.

Third-party services

The app uses the Google Maps Platform SDKs (Maps, Navigation and Places) to show the map, calculate routes and search for places. Using those features sends information to Google, including your location, the route you travel and the search terms you type. Google states in the app’s own navigation notice that it collects navigation data such as GPS location and the route taken, and may use it to improve Google Maps.

That processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy, not by this one.

The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services of its own.

What the developer receives

Nothing. The developer operates no server, collects no personal information, and has no access to your markers, your location or your searches.

Selling or sharing data

Your information is never sold, rented or shared for advertising. The developer has none of it to sell.

Children

The app is intended for drivers and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
